LUCY LAWLESS: GREAT NEWS! We're all excited about seeing Lucy (and Renee and the rest of the Xena cast members) this weekend at our annual Xena Convention here in Burbank, and as we're setting up the show, Lucy called Sharon Delaney (Manager of our Official Xena Fan Club) and confirmed some great news...
Lucy just announced she's about to sign on for 10 more episodes of Battlestar Galactica. No doubt that Battlestar is one of television's finest series (one of the first times that a genre show has been this critically acclaimed) and now we're gonna like it a whole lot more! More news soon we're sure when Lucy appears at the convention this Sunday!
And, in another update: Veronica Mars new airdate: Lucy's episode, "Donut Run," will air Wednesday, January 25, on UPN.

XENA CONVENTION: FIRST PHOTOS UP ON LINE Check out some exclusive backstage shots, including a special reunion shot of Renee O'Connor and Michael Hurst. Visit us at:

Thanks, Your friends at Creation Entertainment for The Official Xena Convention 2006
FYI, the convention is going fantastically so far! Fans here in Burbank from around the world and we're all having an absolutely great time. All the guests have been awesome, and today we especially adored Renee (as always) on stage with a special reading of her story about giving birth to her son. Last night's cabaret was a true delight, highlighted by the musical turns of Michael Hurst and wife Jennifer, and a performance piece from Katherine Fugate that was just wonderful.
More photos coming, and of course in-depth reporting, but now there's more fun to be had back at the convention...

Cool! You snuck (lol) this in on me, littleone! I didn't even realize it was convention time. I guess that might be something we get to do in....say six or seven years....when we're not paying for $50 yearbooks & $60 lost English books, two double rolls of toilet paper a day, etc.....

January 25, 2005, Runnemede, NJ Dynamite Entertainment announced today its agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group to produce comics featuring new adventures of the ultimate warrior princess, Xena. Creative teams, definitive launch dates and marketing efforts for the new comic series will be announced in the coming weeks.
“We’re very happy to be working on the new Xena comics, as she is a great character that had one of the longest runs in TV syndication. We’re launching BIG on this one, with a BIG story from a writer who will take Xena on bold new adventures,” commented Dynamite Spokesperson J. Allen. “I’ve read the breakdown of the opening arc and the first script, and this guy, let’s call him John for now, has really nailed it!”
About Xena
Xena of Amphipolis is a fictional character who first appeared on the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys television series (in the episode "The Warrior Princess"), at which point she was presented as a seductive but treacherous warlord. Shortly afterwards, she became the main character of a spin-off series Xena: Warrior Princess (Xena was one of the first female leads in an action series for many years, hugely influencing subsequent fantasy series from Buffy to Alias). In this series the character sets out to redeem her murderous past by fighting against tyranny and saving the lives of innocents. Many of her adventures prior to the televised stories were subsequently revealed in flashback episodes. Xena was played by Lucy Lawless.

LUCY LAWLESS JOINS BATTLESTAR GALACTICA! (Beware spoilers) SCI FI Channel announced that Lucy Lawless has joined the cast of its original series Battlestar Galactica in the upcoming third season. Lawless will become a recurring cast member, reprising her role as D'Anna Biers in a 10-episode arc. The third season begins production in Vancouver, Canada, in April.
Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) first appeared on Galactica in the episode "Flight of the Phoenix," playing investigative journalist Biers, who arrived on the Galactica to do an expose on alleged crew misconduct that resulted in the death of four civilians. Eventually, the audience learns that Biers is actually one of the human-looking Cylon agents, who was sent to Galactica on a covert reconnaissance mission.
Lawless' second guest appearance will air on Feb. 24 in the episode "Downloaded," which gives viewers their first real glimpse into the Cylon world. (The second half of season two of Galactica premiered Jan. 6.)
Lawless joins a Galactica cast that includes Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. The series is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, who was instrumental in originally casting Lawless in the role of Xena. Battlestar Galactica, from NBC Universal Television Studio, airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Thanks to Barbara for getting this press release to us.
Enjoy!

According to Jenn, "Flight of the Phoenix" should be "Final Cut." I don't watch BG, so I wouldn't know. But I did notice that they changed it at the Official Xena Page.
