i was starving this morning when i got home from work; so i went straight to the kitchen & made myself a huge plate of hash browns, browned all crispy & three eggs scrambled with some shredded four or five cheese blend on top....sliced up one of the few remaining tomatoes from the garden & threw that on the side....i gotta tell you, it hit the spot!! i think if i didn't need to actually "earn a living" at my job, i would run my own little bar & grill during the day & play DJ at night!! what a time that would be!!

Rose petals for dinner: a lovely hybrid tea; Perfumed Perfection.
I was cooking dinner this evening; yeah, it has been known to happen. I couldn't find the balsamic vinegar in the cabinet. I know it was on the grocery list, and asked Hubs if he forgot to get.
No, he says, I didn't get it, because we still have some in the refrigerator. Vinegar in the fridge? Strange, but I've been known to put things back where they don't belong before, so <shrugs> I open the refigerator and no, there is no balsmic vinegar.
Only the green bottle that it comes in. Label washed off and filled with a homemade rosewater concoction that LX and I used to make a rosewater/oatmeal hand mask thing the night I had to have the talk with her because she'd heard a bunch of misinformation over at a friend's house. Know how hard it is to draw diagrams with oatmeal caking on your hands?
So anyway, for whatever reason, I put the leftover rosewater we'd made in the vinegar bottle and into the fridge.
Hubs has been using it to cook with for the last couple of weeks.

The interesting thing is that I read a while ago that rosewater was used as a sort of "cure-all" as far back as the Middle Ages. Those people didn't know it at the time, but roses contain a high content of vitamin C, and the "cure-all" actually did do a great deal of good.
But herein is where the problem lies: The reason I don't bake - I substitute indiscriminately. And though making the rosewater didn't require any baking, it did require following a "recipe". It called for a cup of vodka. Searching the cabinet; no vodka and the closest thing I could come up with was Bloody Mary mix. I thought the tomato-spicy smell might somehow clash with the sweet heavy rose scent of 'Perfume Perfection', so I passed on that. Hhmmm....vodka is alcohol. And clear. What to use instead. I opted for Hydrogen Peroxide. Which is sort of like alcohol. And it's clear.
Good thing we had no rubbing alcohol in the house either.

OMG!!!
yes, u r absolutely right, rose hips r very high in vite c, beta carotene, calcium, iron, b bites, e and several nutients; altho most people have it in tea form. i haven't heard anything on the effects of peroxide taken internally tho. it's still funny!!!
