Anybody seen Army of Darkness, just watched the first fifty minutes or so and am utterly speechless, well not utterly cause I'm posting this here. Any opinions on it?

It was Bruce Campbell all the way.....I haven't heard too many people say they didn't like it. I guess I always go into Bruce's movies expecting "silly"--this one doesn't let you down there. I will give props to the special effects...love the "army of darkness" itself. It's ok, katman, it would get to be a terribly boring planet if we all enjoyed the same things.... Which brings me to Karl Urban's new release-- Doom. I haven't heard anyone say anything about it, but I usually like his choice of action flics..... and The Rock is in this one (seems he actually turned down Karl's part)....I like The Rock too.

Been getting my dose of horror flics moving into Halloween week.....saw a very good one yesterday on cable.... The Other.... This sums it up marvelously! We also watched The Sixth Sense this weekend....it was Mary's first time. Wonderful little ghostly story....of course, Halloween, HII, IV, V, & H2O are all in the mix this week... many more to follow!

Yeah you're right of course, can' t agree all the time I guess. Was just expecting this to be a horror movie, about five minutes in I thought, well they're not taking it to seriously, which is okay I guess, but when it turned into the Three Stooges [ minus two ] I was outta there, never got to see the actual Army of Darkness. Saw a preview of Doom just the other night, doesn't look bad, think it starts here Thursday, debating whether to go see it or not.

Just returned from seeing Flightplan, a film about a little girl missing on board a plane seemed like a pretty thin plot to sustain the suspense for 100 minutes, but with a tight script, solid direction and good cinematography it managed to do just that, and of course having the superb Jodie Foster in the central role didn't hurt either.
Jodie gives a strong, convincing performance as the Mother in distress after she finds her daughter has disappeared on a flight to New York ......... or has she?
Highly recommended,
7/10.
King Kong starts Dec.17, so will be there for that, you as well I reckon MG.

That is such a crock, kat!! You're never too old for companionship & perhaps love! Yeah I know, but as they say, I'm to set in my ways now, don't think the change would suit me, besides, don't think any [ sane ] woman would be interested.

I watched SAW the other night with my family and loved it....I love thrillers and that one was good stuff the gore was left alot to the imagination. Total mind screw.
The other movie recently seen whiach I just couldn't get into was Donny Darko...it was wasted on me for I just didn't seen the point.

Yet to see Saw [ sorry about the pun ] but agree with you about Donny Darko, it apparently has a pretty big cult following, but it all seemed rather pointless to me I'm afraid.

Can't wait for the December releases....usually shy away from the theartre....hard for me to sit for that long without doing something else.....however, I might make an exception for these two....
King Kong & Chronicles of Narnia
Two of my fav stories....I even had a cat named Aslan when I was a wee one....& I may have even been referred to as "the white witch" in some of my former years....lol
