Hello everybody! Xengab has a few problems with her computer, so she can't sent any messages to you - because he won't let her. Instead I'll write a few lines, if you don't mind. I know we didn't let anything hear from us for far to long. But that doesn't mean that you weren't in our thoughts a lot. We're doing fine and had a lot done in our house. I'm now a supervisor in that hotel I work in ( it's actually a old castle ) which means moooore work and tiny bit more money. We hope that everybody is well and we'll be back soon.

Hey Vlad!! Good to hear from you two. And don't ever worry about coming back after being gone for a while. You are always welcome here and we just miss you when you're not here! I still think you have one of the coolest jobs of anyone I know. And congratulations on becoming supervisor of your own castle. How many people can say anything like that?! Do you get to oversee the outside groundskeeping and landscaping as well, or just the inside stuff? Love and hugs to both of you...and the boys too! Any broken bones lately?

Hi Quetta! To answer your question it's at the moment "just" the inside stuff, which is in such a huge old building quite a bit. From everything has to be clean to every missing screw or paint splash. Since you pay a few £ 100 per night/per room.... But I guess that's the difference between a brothel at the road and a 4 star hotel. And no, no broken bones lately! Thank God for that!!!! My older son goes now to karate since a few months and he really enjoys it. Tomorrow he has to perform for his first belt. Good luck to him, huh?! We're all fine, even my American soft shell turtle. That's it for today, have a nice time!

Yes, lots of good wishes for your son and his "competition" (is it called competing when they are going for belts or just performing). Do they start out with a white belt and then yellow is the first they earn or must they also earn the white belt to start? How old are your boys now? So...if we all were to make it to your country someday, would we be allowed any discounts at your castle? I would love to see some pictures...is there a web site maybe? It's great to be hearing from you all again and to know that you are still doing well (even the turtle). It seems like such a long time ago that you made the move from Germany to be with M. Was it at the end of 2006? It seems like a lifetime ago. Take care and good luck again tomorrow...

Well, I see it's GP's birthday today. I'm pretty sure she hasn't been in here since before last year's birthday, but I'll go ahead and send the love anyway... Hope your day is special!

Hi Quetta! They called it a "Graduation" and he passed first class. (There are three classes: First, is the best one - second and third which is the worst) So he has now his yellow belt and is very proud of it. Today I had a day of so I did a bit of painting in our house. No rest for the wicked, huh? Here is the Internet page of the Hotel. www.lumleycastle.com Yeah it was at the end of 2006 that I moved over here and I don't regret it a bit. Happy Birthday GP!!!! Hope you're alright , have a nice day! Xengab & Vlad

Wow! That's about all I can say, Vlad. That is truly a grand place. Now do you all live in the castle or at least on the grounds somewhere? And congrats for your son's accomplishment. Go him!! Love and hugs to you all and stop by again soon.

Xengab! Vlad! How'd I miss all the goings on in here? I suppose it's because I just automatically go to the Hugs thread; I didn't even notice anyone's been posting in this one.
How very, very cool to work in a castle! I had the opportunity to visit quite a few of them in different countries when I was stationed in Germany, but have never stayed in one. To imagine staying in something built hundreds of years ago...it's kind of exciting in an eerie sort of way.
Glad you hear you both, and the boys are doing well. Take care.

Hi everybody!
We hope you all have a wonderful time. Xengab has had today her eye operation (cataract removed) and she was very brave. She didn't got a general anesthetic, just a local one. It was quiet unpleasant for her, but she pulled it through anyway. We've to go back to the hospital in a few weeks time for a check up and then later in the year maybe she gets the other eye done.
To answer your question, NO we live neither in the castle or on the ground. We live in Durham. Everybody is fine over here and we hope it is the same with you all.
Greetings and have a nice day Xengab & Vlad

"Cool!", Q. I missed this 'til now, but just showed it to BP. "Cool" was her reaction, and says thank you also. She liked the blue-guy the best, but wonders why he's throwing snow in June. No, no - it's confetti, Dear, I think. Oh, my poor deprived child doesn't know what confetti is, and after an explanation, she's decided it's something she must have as a belated birthday celebratory thing.
(eye-roll and future vaccuuming duties, apparently)
Thanks, Q.
I'll drop off my hugs here this morning; I'm running late.....as always.
