It's Two-fer-Tuesday; twice the hugs.
Hugs, hugs...

It never hurts to get some extras.

Marqueeetta - dang, how I love to say that now that I know how to pronounce it properly; it's both beautiful and unique - very befitting. And...uhm....so Hubs and I broke down, and the girls are getting a dog after six months of proving they are capable of being solely responsible for the care of our cats. We went to the Humane Society yesterday and we all fell in love with a female black lab puppy. So adorable...but what to name her? Midnight, Blacky, Inky were BP's suggestions - all acceptable, but very typical black dog names, (except Inky, which sounds too much like Icky). Hubs said Ziggy; LX came back with Zoey. Uhm...then it just slipped out of my mouth....cuz I love to say it, and everyone agreed it's very befitting....both beautiful and unique. Hopefully, we'll be able to pick her up tonight - Hubs and I are going to Chicago today, and it depends on if we get back before the Humane Society closes. So whaddaya think, Q? Is it too weird to have a dog as your namesake? Look, she's beautiful, and is deserved of a beautiful name, yes? www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=12190797 Hugs, and puppy kisses, (not the slobbery kind).

She's beautiful, Gams. You mean you would actually choose to name another creature after me? Quetta? I love it.
Before Mary ever came to visit me the first time--when she flew over for the weekend--I had bought several little "things" that I wanted her to have...some sentimental things, some silly things...like a stuffed animal. Mary was always telling me how she loved "soft" things--anything soft. So when I went looking for the softest stuffed animal I could find...one she could take back to Arizona with her and snuggle with, I found this black lab puppy. Needless to say, I dug her out from her "put-away" place a couple of weeks ago and if I am home, she's in my lap or wrapped in my arms.
All I could do when I read your post this morning and clicked on that picture was cry. (imagine that)
I know you all will be busy this evening...lots of excitement for the girls...and "fresh hell" for Gams & Hubs! I used to go to the Goodwill and buy stuffed animals by the bagful. Bo (a lab from years and years ago) would tear up only those stuffed animals. He never chewed on shoes or furniture--as long as he had stuffed animals to mutilate.
I'll talk to you soon.
Love ya, sis.

Sending my hugs. Thank you, Angel. I feel bad because I haven't given your friend a proper welcome here, but tell her I'm glad she's here, please.

Lovely thought Gams, naming the puppy the way you did.
Your moggies are gonna be so pleased having a mutt invading their territory, hope they take it better then the pet Galah we had many years ago that I mentioned here, turned very nasty when a Budgerigar was introduced into the house.
Adding my hugs to the many here.

Damn, Q - I didn't mean to make you cry. I had no idea you had a stuffed black lab keeping you company. "Marquetta" - she knows her name already - is more squirmy than yours, and the girls taught her to sit already. But yes - I am in Fresh Hell, and it smells like wet dog and puppy doo.
Katina - LMAO, Dear Man. You are gonna have to translate that one for me.
Lovin' the new background - I think it's the best yet.
Gotta run and get BP to school. Fresh Hugs all around.

It's "Free Hug Friday" - or not exactly free, but come on in and get all you need for the low, low, get-them-while-they-last price of a hug in return.
Of course, the low, low price never changes, and the supplies are unlimited...I just needed an "F" word to go with Friday.

Wow, I can't believe how the days get away from me. It's been two days since I "returned any hugs" here. I'm sorry. I read every day; I just can't ever think of anything to say.
My days fly by the same. Except now I try not to sleep because the dreams have started. And nothing is worse than feeling like I'm having a conversation with Mare and then waking up to realize that it's just a stupid dream. That she's not really here and no matter how much I bargain or plead or beg or pray or cry or scream, she's never gonna be here again.
Sh!t. The alcohol didn't help much today. Seems like I got the headache today without any of the numbness.

I wish I could say something to make it all better, but I can't. I can only hug and hope it helps in some small way.

Quetta, I said I wasn't going to lecture......but maybe just a tiny repeat, because yaanooo, Sista, there is no such thing as comfortably numb. Alcohol is a depressant - exactly what you don't need right now. And you can "pfft" me all you want.
Today, I'm sending peanut-butter on rye, (a old headache remedy), and a pot of my best sludge, along with my daily dose of hugs.

And I beg to differ. I have had many days (about 25 of the last 30) that I've managed quite handily to reach that place where "comfortably numb" lives. Numb is good right now. It loosens that vice grip that is squeezing the life right out of my heart these days and nights. Can't leave out the nights, because they really suck. I appreciate all the love and hugs...and lectures. You're not telling me anything I wouldn't be trying to pass on to a friend. It just doesn't want to sink in right now.
