I love this ep. The scenery, the costumes, the music (Natalie Merchant), and one of the best lines from Gabs, "What do you intend to do; flirt him to death?" And when Xena says, "Boo!" to Brutus. He looks as if he might wet his pants for a sec. Oh yeah, and at the end...altho I cringe from the blows that Gaby takes from Brutus, it couldn't be more fitting that he should meet his end by her sword; justice for Ephiny and the Amazons as well as for G and X and his part in delivering them to Caesar. Gabrielle killing Brutus was the best part of the ep. He got the messy ending he deserved. She spared his life and he allowed her and Xena to be crucified. Xena and Antony together- no. Just- no.

I actually like this ep. Lots of emotion. Lots of action. Tender moments with Aphrodite and Gaby. Makes me almost root for Ares at the end--for Xena to give in to him--almost. I think he at least deserved her hand on his cheek, a squeeze of his hand.... something. After all, he did give up his immortality. And you can almost believe in his sincerity in those gorgeous brown eyes at the end; I guess because that's the first time in his whole life he has actually felt vulnerable. I think he was a handsome man...and probably one of the reasons I have never voted for a Xena movie; just doesn't seem right without Kevin Smith as Ares.

Kevin Smith was the only reason I liked Ares. Some women like 'bad boys' . . . I do not. I'd take Joxer over Ares any day of the week. And I _really_ don't get into wimps all that much. But Joxer had a good heart for all the boasting and inflated ego he had.

I agree. Xena would not have been the show it was without Joxer. For all his goofiness, he had his place...and I would hate to think of a Xena movie without him. (Not that that is likely)

Damn! What a great series this was. Some eps you just never get tired of watching. *sigh* I wish it could've gone on forever.
