Ok....I tried to go cold turkey. Even when I was off for almost five months with my hand, I veryrarely even channel-surfed to Salem--land of the mighty Hortons & Bradys. But alas, one girl in my department at work & one in the department behind me at work are both "Days of Our Lifers". They talk....with me in the middle...sometimes they ask me..."do you remember when....?"

What's a girl to do?

I broke down. People's Court was a repeat, repeat...I had already caught up on all the world news I could handle for one morning, too close to sleepy-time to start a movie, didn't feel like reading...so I went there...& I watched....as the same Bo & Hope I grew up with over the past 30-odd years wailed in the hospital, clinging to each other as they signed the papers Lexie put in front of them--the papers that would allow Lexie (surgeon-extrodinaire in everything from emergency medicine to brain surgery & no doubt soon-to-be organ donation) to harvest their young son's liver or kidney or some body part....

Meanwhile....well, never mind....you must know the story.

Does anyone--by any chance--watch Days of Our Lives? Young & the Restless? Those are the only two that are still on that I ever followed. I watched Guiding Light with my grandmother when she was still living & Another World was my all-time favorite...who could forget Mac & Rachael...then Carl & Rachael...(Carl played by Charles Keating--known to us in the Xenaverse as Zeus), Vickie? Jake? Felicia? HELP!!

bardling, even if it's just to tell me "never liked soaps, never watched them", I'de like to hear from you.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. I utterly detest soap operas and would never be caught watching them. They are just not my thing. Now am I saying no one else should be able to watch and enjoy them? Nope.

Well, in reply to your statement ............... "katman, I know you have had to have watched a soap or two in your day....?" ........................ ya got me I'm afraid, used to watch "Neighbours" an Aussie soap, but haven't seen it for about fifteen years, and also watched "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a period, but also haven't seen that for many, many years, although I'm sure if I tuned in tomorrow it would seem like I hadn't missed an episode.

Oh yeah, I watched Santa Barbara, also, when it was on....loved Eden & Cruse--but mostly just Eden! Can't even remember one other character's name...so I guess I just watched Eden mostly--probably while I was doing something more constructive, like laundry or cleaning, or reading the dictionary....

Had not watched DOOL in a long time then when i went on vacation I watched it to "catch up" on what was going on. Same stuff I bet I could go 10 yrs. without watching it and see it 1 day and still know whats going on.
