i've been studying the western world's natural health & healing
for almost 10 yrs. i find it extremely fascinating. i do my own research,
i don't take anyone's word on anything. i have 2 books that i swear by.
Prescription for Natural Healing
by Phillis Blach,cnc & James Blach,M.D.
it is a easy, quick guide to recommendations for aliments.
and
Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine
by Micheal Murry,N.D. & Joseph Pizzorno,N.D.
this one is more of an owners manual for the body,
which also covers remedies for aliments.
i also have a subscription to Natural Health Magazine.
it is a very informative magazine if u can get past
the vanity which is present more in some issues than
others. it keeps me up to date on the latest research
and findings and has reminders of the tried and trusted.
i have recently discovered the eastern world's natural
healing, it's very interesting. i can't wait to learn
more. i'm researching books now.
i have 2 daughters, 12 & 14, neither of which has
been to the dr., except for routine checkups (insurance
doesn't cover naturepathic doctors). i keep a medical log
of all illnesses and what i gave them for it. so far the
most serious illness has been strep throat and my youngest
daughter's mild adhd (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
they take 7 vites and herbs twice a day for optimal health. u can
survive on less but i strive for optimal, from the brain to the
nervous system to the other organs.
expensive? not too terribly bad if u know what u r
doing. i spend about $50 a week for 3 people,
and that's for the good stuff (no wal-mart stuff).
it's not only what u take, but if and how the body is able to use it.
is anyone interested in this stuff?
