Still very pleasant weather here, although the forecast is for temperature in the nineties tomorrow and nudging three figures the following day so I ain't looking forward to that. Thankfully it's supposed to be cooler again on Thursday *fingers crossed* Gams that's just plain nasty messing up that poor blokes throw blanket, nasty but danged funny at the same time. Hope everyone's well. Hey champ how's Ana, don't see her around much lately.

He'd think something was wrong if I didn't mess with him in some way, Katina. And poor bloke? Pfft! Don't feel sorry for him - he always manages to get me back in one way or another. We've often been mistaken for a married couple the way we relentlessly tease one another.
The thing that's just plain nasty is the weather outside today. Cold and rainy. Sounds like you can use just a bit of that to cool those near triple digits down some.
Stay cool, Katina. Everyone else do the opposite.

She sends her love and says thanks for missing her. She's just extremely busy right now...working alot, changing apartments, getting ready for her month in the United States...did I mention that she is coming to visit me for three weeks after attending the Xena convention in February...? We are both really excited. And too funny...on the "gay throw arranging"...I got up to find that Frank had taken my purple woobie and strategically placed it over the arm of his chair in the living room today when he was cleaning up...(which he does everyday). It's the first time he has really touched my blanket...and how funny at this particular time. I should have known it was just a matter of time! Peace and love to all!

...did I mention that she is coming to visit me for three weeks after attending the Xena convention in February...? Errrr no, not that I recall. Hey that's great news champ, bet you can both hardly wait. Forecasters got it right for once, 40 degrees C yesterday [ about 105F ] and a much more pleasent 22 [ 70 ] today with steady rain, nothing like a change I guess.

It's been nearly a week since I posted in here?! I got all wrapped up (literally and figuratively) in the Secret Santa thing at Whoosh - LMAO, I am so the wrong person to be doing that; my lack of computer and organizational skills should dictate I shouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Ah, but I have so much fun, I can't help myself. Hoping you'll join in next year, Sis. Then there's that Survivor thing there too - competitive nature in me dictates I shouldn't touch that one either. Whew! Been a busy week here - just the rush of wanting to get everything done before we leave for Mom's. We'll be back before Christmas, but I'd like to relax and enjoy those couple of days instead of scurrying around like a mad woman (do mad women scurry?) who has waited until the last minute. So instead I did the last minute mad woman bit a week early (eye-roll). Topped it off by helping with BP's class party on Thursday. If you ever get too caught up in the rush and forget the excitement of the season, just spend a couple of hours with kids - and in a room full of twenty-five of them, there is plenty of excitement to go around - an over-abundance of excitement. Even found a bit of time to get some writing done only because it was spurred by a couple of deadlines; it's been awhile since I've written anything except my blog, and two-minute drilling some odd subject, I came across a personal essay request and thought I'd give it a try. Even if it goes nowhere, it was good to write again in an other than blogly style. Even my blog this week took on a different style - I wrote a poem. Check it out, if you get a chance: www.grit.com/A-Lakeside-View/What-If-On-the-Night-Before-Christmas.aspx . I'm not saying it's a good poem, but I kinda like it. If anyone has holiday travel plans for this week, and I happen to miss you before we get home, have a very Merry Christmas. Later, Sweet Taters.

Hello everybody! Here in good old England is it a bit cold, just enough that the snow stays with us since yesterday. It came down a lot (30 cm) and I'm busy clearing the drive all the time (if you don't have a hobby, huh?). Xengab and I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year without any sorrows.
See you all soon. XXX

The link doesn't work for me Gams, so I headed over to Grit and read it there. Now I'm not saying it's a good poem either, simply because my knowledge of poetry is such that I can't really say what's good poetry and what's not, but like you I "kinda like it" also, more then that to be honest, I found it to be excellent, thought provoking and very sobering. Got me to run a "two minute drill" and what I found was alarming to say the least, it's almost incomprehensible to think that this is happening in the richest, most powerful country on the face of the planet. This is not a pop at America by the way, god knows we have the same problem here and according to stats, per head of population it's every bit as bad as in the U.S. P.S. Love the beginning of the article about Christmases when you and your brother were kids, great stuff. Hope everyone is well.

I fixed the link ... for anyone else, since Kat has already figured out how to get around it. The period at the end of the sentence made the url invalid, so I put a space before it.
Gams: Have a safe and fun trip ... there and back.

Gams...I "kinda liked" the poem, as well. Good article, sis. I tried to leave a comment but like always I had troubles logging in and finally gave up. And the stuff about the childhood Christmases was great. We had tough years at our house too. Looking back now, I can see them so clearly, but at the time--on Christmas morning--you would've never known that we were struggling so. And the food seemed to never end. I swear, it seemed Inez could lay out a spread that would feed anyone and everyone that stopped in for a week. And they did. I remember some of the farm hands coming by and humbly taking the care packages that mom made up to help feed their families on Christmas. Good to see everyone...Kat, Joxcee, Angel...I love you all!
