Did you see all those leftovers that Gams had?? I just bet she left an ample supply in that fridge for our favorite hungry Aussie-man. Not too much going on here this morning. The girls are off on their four-day church convention and Mary is at work. Pfft. Had we known it was convention-time a little sooner, we would've caught the sunrise on a beach this morning...along with the next two mornings! Poor planning all the way around. Oh well, I may still try something spontaneous for when she gets home tomorrow--we will still have the rest of Saturday and the whole day Sunday until late. I'm thinking water and sun... I guess we can do anything we want... Happy weekend all! Smooches

I'm sure you two can find something to do with your time alone. <smile>
And yep - I left the fridge packed with leftovers; I figure there's something in there Katina will like, and if not, he can smear Vegemite over top it all.
Well, Taters, we are off on our camping trip. LMAO. We are going for a weekend - we'll be back Sunday afternoon, and it seems we'll be driving in caravan. So much stuff we are taking both the van and my truck. Thinking a bike rack is in order sometime in the near future.
Later Sweets; hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

Did I hear someone mention food, love picking through leftovers so if ya all hear some strange noises coming from the kitchen don't worry, it's just me gorging myself on all that fine tucker, finished off with a few of Xengabs home made cookies.
And yep you're right champ, nothing stopping you and Mare from doing whatever you like, after all the worlds your oyster.
Hope you and the family have a great time Gams, keeping my fingers crossed that the weather gods smile at ya ............... oh and if there's any leftovers from the barbecue, well ya know what to do with em' right?
I'm with you Bardling, we desperately need the rain we're getting here also, but that doesn't mean we have to like it while it's happening.

Xengab, is that really you that has left us some of your wonderful cookies and coffee?! I have been missing you. Can you believe that it has been eight months since you all started your new life journey together as a family?? The time just flies. Mary and I were remembering how young the girls were when we got together--it will soon be five years for us--in September. They are growing up so fast, so many changes, so much drama--perhaps you will be spared some of that drama with boys... Anyhoo, great to see you pop in--and the cookies are delicious! Hope everyone else had a great weekend. I know Kat did because his boys are still winning. Gams and crew are safe and sound back home from their "wilderness wanderings". Bardling, we never heard anymore about your new Xena sista...was it a good fit? 'Angel, are you and your son planning anything exciting before school starts back? (Ours go back in about three weeks) Jox, I'm thinking you are really busy because you have been a little scarce lately...are you writing a bunch? I'm calling everyone out. It has been waaaay too quiet in here the past month or so. I don't plan on letting this site slide into internet oblivion without a fight, so you all might as well just keep on coming by and finding something to share. Got it?? Good. See ya tomorrow.

More like reading a lot. I read a book a night for about a week or two. I'd been reading books on writing for so long, that one night I got the itch to read for fun.
Whoosh's "What Are Ya Reading" Thread:
« Reply #106 on Jun 11, 2007, 7:46pm » I finished Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie & am half way through Faking It by Jennifer Crusie. « Reply #107 on Jun 12, 2007, 5:41pm » Finished Faking It. « Reply #108 on Jun 14, 2007, 5:44pm » I read Crazy For You & Tell Me Lies by Jennifer Crusie. « Reply #109 on Jun 15, 2007, 9:20pm » Match Me If You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips « Reply #110 on Jun 19, 2007, 7:36pm » Finished Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Crusie. And started on Cabal by Clive Barker. « Reply #111 on Jun 21, 2007, 8:06pm » I finished Cabal and the four short stories that were also included at the end of the book: The Life of Death, How Spoilers Bleed, Twilight at the Towers & The Last Illusion. I enjoyed Cabal, but didn't much care for the short stories.
Next up to read is: Sabriel by Garth Nix. My nephew brought over the trilogy and told me to read them. Then he took my Lord of the Rings Trilogy, which I haven't read yet. He was right about The Da Vinci Code being good, so maybe I'll enjoy this trilogy as well.
« Reply #112 on Jun 25, 2007, 4:44pm » I read The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes by Anne Stuart; Jennifer Crusie; Eileen Dreyer over the weekend. The book came in the mail Friday and I hadn't started the above book yet, so I bumped it down one. Unless something comes up the above book should be my next read.
« Reply #113 on Jun 28, 2007, 4:59pm » I've finished Sabriel, and am now reading the second book in The Abhorsen Trilogy: Lirael. « Reply #114 on Jul 7, 2007, 1:29am » I've read Abhorsen by Garth Nix and Manhunting by Jennifer Crusie.
And now I've gone back to reading books on writing again.

Bossy Britches! BOLL. Thanks Katina, for the morning giggle.
Hope everyone has a great day. Stay cool in the heat; Katina, you stay warm snuggled in blankets.
Me - I gotta run and sweat my @ss off in this god-awful humidity. (Wouldn't that be great if all it took to keep a sweet @ss was a day of sweating)
Bossy Britches.....<snicker, snicker> Still has me laughing.
Later, Sweet Taters.

I gotta admit--that's a good one, Kat. And actually a name I haven't been called in my 40-something years. "Bossy" yes, "bossy britches"--that's a new one. Most everyone that knows me would probably agree that it fits, however... Mary was home yesterday and we spent the entire day cleaning and piddling and just hanging out together. I had a list ready for the girls when they got up...which kept them busy and out of our hair the entire day. By the time they finished, had dinner, and got cleaned up, they were too exhausted to come out of their room last night. The trade off--I told them that if they did everything on the list to their mom and mines satisfaction, I would take them to get an outfit for school today. You mention the word "go" and they are wrapped like a fine cigar. And...I get to pick up my new chair today--a little swivel rocker similar to one my grandmother had when I was a kid. I kept that chair until it couldn't be redone one more time and then I stored it until my friend refused to keep it in her garage anymore. She sat it out one trash day--I couldn't be there to see it go. This one will never be the chair that one was because they don't make furniture like that anymore, but it will serve its purpose. Not to worry, either, ladies and gent--I won't let the place close down. It does get a little frustrating sometimes when I feel like there is no support--even from Mare--but then when I do venture out to see what's going on other places, the traffic is there, but the conversation most of the time lacks substance--not that message boards aren't suppose to be a conglomeration of...whatever...but if it takes me four times to read a post to decipher it, I get bored and I venture on back here and remember all the reasons why we started PT's in the first place. I'm happy here...and if just one person a day stops by and finds something interesting, humorous, or educational, then my work is done. So...that being said, I hope everyone is having a good week and staying cool or warm or dry, whichever they are needing the most! I think it's about time to pay my debt to the girls. Pfft! I really hate trying to shop with #1--she is impossible to the 10th degree! Breathe in, breathe out, wax on, wax off... I'll be back later to tell you about Mary's newest distraction...

Other boards I visit are also going through a slow period. Whoosh has been pretty slow of late, and so is Katherine Fugate's forum. Traffic usually picks up in autumn when it turns cold and everyone stays inside to keep warm.

I know...and I understand how real life can take over...but when you only have two or three that post faithfully, and real life hits them all at the same time, it can get lonely in here. <big pout> Especially when I really miss Mary being here everyday. <even bigger pout> I'm not going to say too much about, tho...she gets a little "tense" when she feels I'm pressuring her to post...
Bossy Britches! BOLL. Thanks Katina, for the morning giggle.
No worries Gams, like to get a zinger in every now and again, and that one was a favourite of my Mom's, first time I ve had the chance to trot it out and I couldn't pass up on a chance like that; so there ya go champ, you know who to thank for that one. Look forward to finding out about Mary's newest distraction, if those little figures moving across the bottom of your post are a hint then my guess is that she's into Igloo building. Also looking forward to those photos on LX's feet Gams, they should be ................... interesting.

Hi everybody! Just a short stop to say "hello". Whenever the weather is quite good I'm out in the garden - there's so much to do. I just throwed one tree and one big shrub (Berberitze) out, so my shredder had something to chew. Now is a little bit more light in the garden. Xengab said now that we've spent enough money for the garden now (new bench, white& gold gravel and so on) and I think she's right - at least till autuum. Because I wanna buy then a few bulbs (tulips, gladiola) to bring a little bit more color and happiness in our tiny refugium. See you. Have a nice day!

My goodness! It's a busy place today. You know I love the company--even if it's a speedy drive-by! Glad to hear everyone is busy and happy...and happily busy! I bet your garden is beautiful, Vlad. Too bad you and Gams can't bridge the waters and open your own nursery/landscaping business together...and maybe have need for a third, highly-motivated, fast-learning, semi-greened thumb partner from Indiana! You two intrigue me when you start rattling your shop-talk. Bardling, no apologies, please. I didn't mean to whine so. I was having a moment. And now you have me nosy about the "heavy-duty projects"... Katman, you are too funny--"igloo-building"... Good guess, actually. Sorry, it's wrong. It's the other part of the picture...she has crabs!! Maybe I should start a new paragraph...hermit crabs--and stop thinking what you were thinking! We got them to replace the scorpion that passed away last week, but she's not into the critter-responsibility stage at all. So, when one of the crabs died the first week, Mary stepped in and rescued the other one. They need minimal care, but they at least need to be attended to daily. You know with her 14-year-old, busy summer calendar, it's hard to take five minutes a day to feed your pets... <eye roll> ...anyway, Mary loves them. She takes them out and rearranges their tank everyday, watches them eat, talks to them...it's fun to watch her having fun. OK, gotta move around a bit... ...smooches!

We had hermit crabs once . Now we have a cockatiel. She owns the house.
