Ok...I'm not a gadget-kinda gurl like Mary is so I just have a simple little prepay cell phone that offers me a few different ringtones....a cell phone that rings about once a week, I might add. I actually got Mary's hand-me-down when she upgraded. Anyway, she was explaining to me this morning why it was necessary for her to be able to download songs onto her cell phone--in response to the she got from me--the look that says, "uh-huh, how long before you're bored with this toy?" Seems this little gem of technology is good for mini-breaks at work when she's had one too many "good ole boys" coming onto her or when some idiot is screaming at her because of the .16 gas hike in the last 20 minutes....you know, the "I gotta walk away for a minute" breaks... Good therapy. Says it can give her attitude a complete 180. This is what she planted in the gurls' heads Friday morning on the way to school...I think it stayed with them most of the day Friday...and into Friday night...go ahead, you know you want to click on it... Hehe!

OMG! I had to tell this story to Hubs earlier today. It cracked me up - and him too. "Build Me Up Buttercup" was one of his "songs of the day" a couple weeks or so ago - those songs he sings me each morning just because he knows it'll irritatingly get stuck in my head forever....or until his next "song of the day" gets stuck there.
And you know I had to listen. And sing it to him. We both sang for the rest of the afternoon.
Please tell me how to e-mail this so I can send it to him at work tomorrow. Payback.

I just knew this was gonna be a warm & fuzzy-kinda thread...
I'm e mailing it to you even as I type; so all you have to do is just forward it on to your buttercup.

The thing about happiness is that it doesn't help you to grow; only unhappiness does that. So I'm grateful that my bed of roses was made up equally of blossoms and thorns. I've had a privileged, creative, exciting life, and I think that the parts that were less joyous were preparing me, testing me, strengthening me." Lana Turner

Oh no, no....it is precious in its own strange sort of way. I think I'd feel slighted if he missed serenading me with these "Songs to Irritate", (sounds like a good name for a CD, doesn't it?). You should hear our rendition of Sonny and Cher's "I've Got You, Babe". Uhm...ok, maybe for your sakes, you should not.
Today's Song of the Day: Under the Boardwalk.
Oh, and when I just called him to ask where the hell he put my x-country skis while spring cleaning his garage, and after I spent a half hour looking in every possible place imaginable that he could have stored them - except, of course, the one place they could be stored - I told him to check his e-mail. <smile>

Ok...not knowing exactly where to stick this, but feeling all excited about my new finds, maybe it fits in here. Maybe not.
And since I've spent more time finding my finds than I intended and have run short of time, (since I spent what time I had finding my finds and getting excited about finding them), I'll just copy and paste what I already spent time writing...
I just got back from the library's used book sale. Skipped the novels; novels are a dime a dozen - especially at a used book sale. I headed right for the reference books; I can not resist musty, dusty old references. Picked up The Oxford Universal Dictionary, (printed 1933), and Hoyts New Cyclopedia of Practical Quotations, (copyright 1922), and ok, so one novel...maybe more of a personal essay: Gift From The Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, (Charles' wife). It was recommended as good reading to me a while ago, and maybe I'll stick a quote or two in here from her sometime.
But first - one from my new old quote book. This one is from Emerson. I like it; it applies to my way of thinking...or more accurately, to the strange way my mind works...
"Each mind has its own method." ~ Emerson

Ah..."words to soothe the savage beast". Wait....that would be "music to soothe...." Either works for gurls such as us! Made me think of you when I ran across it....

What exactly should be the content of this thread? I'm not sure where to stick some stuff, and so have just been throwing it in here. Sorry if it's not what you had in mind...
...but I just gotta say, ILB, (I'm assuming it was you who did it), I have just spent the last five minutes playing with my mouse and watching the trail of pretty colors. I feel like Tinkerbell. It's too cool.

Ok...I gotta stop now. Really. I'm going. After one more round of figure eights, curly-q's and writing my name in cursive.

Didn't want to start a "wax on, wax off" without the "breathe in, breathe out" counterpart. Besides, I like to hear about the things that give my friends peace & comfort in this wicked, crazy world. But you can come here anytime just to sprinkle fairy dust if it makes you happy!

Fairy dust does indeed make me happy. I shall leave sprinkles behind me on trail as I ski down it. Leaving now; fairy dust, skiing in the sun, and a morning drinking coffee with my Xena Sista - what a great day this is.
Wishing a "Enjoy the Day" to all.
