Thanks guys. I kinda think it's cool too, especially since I had an article published in a February issue of a woman's magazine - the same magazine as last summer. No worries about being anonymity correct. Last I checked everything was generally where it was supposed to be, given a little leeway for the aging process. This is the magazine's home page. My article can't be viewed on-line, but is listed on the feature page. Can you guess which one it'd be? Appropriately titled, I think. www.silentsports.net/index.html

Congratulations Gams, really great news, the only thing that surprises me is that you haven't been published earlier. Pretty sure we don't get that mag down here, otherwise I'd be buying it no worries, and hey, think I have a fair idea which article is your's.

Mighty Cats were in action again last night against Port Adelaide; the AFL in their "wisdom" scheduled the match up in Darwin in what is their Monsoon season. Massive storms just twelve hours prior had luckily moved on by the time the match started but there was still driving rain throughout the entire match, with sections of the ground under water by the finish. Didn't get to watch the whole game as I was watching "The West Wing" but knew there'd be a replay today [ Sunday ] or tomorrow so it didn't really matter. Switched back after "West Wing" five minutes left, scores level, and still level at the final siren. They can't have draws in this competition so the players had to face up to two five minute periods after just a five minute break. Cats one point down after the first five minutes, but a goal [ six points ] with less then two minutes left to play and we looked home; however the opposition pushed forward, took a mark just outside the fifty metre arc [ to far out to score in the conditions ] but then received a fifty metre penalty when a Geelong player knocked the ball out of the Port players hands after the mark had been taken, advancing him I thought to the goal square and a certain goal, so with less then thirty seconds on the clock it was game over, two hours of gut breaking endeavor to be pipped on the post. This was when yours truly sprang to his feet and stormed out of the room and my brother changed the channel; curses, so near yet so far. Eventually staggered off to bed, still in a rather foul mood, logged onto the Internet the following morning and checked my Footy site; newspaper headline said "Cats home in thriller". WHAT!!!!! Read the article which described what happened, the Port player was a little further out then I thought at the time but still took his shot at goal from just fifteen metres out, slight angel, yet hit the post, and the Cats held on for a narrow win. EUREKA. The replay, what time is it on? Quick, check the online TV guide <hurry man hurry> ....... ten AM, current time, two PM, arrrgghhhhhh, missed it. Guess the moral of this sorry tale is "it ain't over till it's over" so don't lose your cool and leave before the end. Anyway, we won and that's what matters, in the Semi Final next Friday night here in Melbourne, in somewhat better conditions then then we endured last night no doubt ............... go the MIGHTY CATS. P.S. There's an hour and a half of highlights on Tuesday afternoon, reckon I just might have a peek at that Sheesh I've got writers cramp now.

BOLL, Katina. You missed your calling, Dear Man - you shoulda been a sportscaster; I was hanging on the edge of my seat reading....would have liked to read the final score coverage as you watched live though. It woulda been even more fun with audio. <snicker>
Go Cats.

I'm with Gams on this one, Kat. It is all too evident and crystal-clear wherein your passion lies.
Give that man a microphone and a sports coat!
Nice job, Kat. (And rah, Cats!!)

"Manimal" Double-Double Helps Send Hogs To SEC Tournament Title Game Go Hogs!! They had a ugly season. They headed into the conference tourney ranked 57 in the Nation. It was looking like my boys would be sitting out the "Big Dance" and watching it from their dorm rooms. Then they beat South Carolina in their opening game. Number two game and the highly-favored Vanderbilt falls to my mighty sweathogs. Today they were pretty much in control the whole game over an emotionally-spent Miss. State team that yesterday managed to upset the favored U of Kentucky Wildcats. (hehe) Tomorrow at 1 PM my Razorbacks play for the Conference Championship against once again, the favored--and defending National Champs--Florida Gators. Win or loose tomorrow, today's win no doubt will get them into the Big Dance....and after all, that's what March Madness is all about! Can I get a "soooo-weeeee" and an amen, please!? Catch you in front of the tellie!

Congrats' on your Musketeers as well bardling. Now can I get an "awwww bad luck" for the Cats who had their colours lowered on Friday night.

Sorry to hear that, Kat. Alas I know the feeling all too well this season. We did lose--miserably I might add to Florida yesterday. So ugly it was that I turned the channel with six minutes to go. Not to fret, however. My boys did make it "off the bubble" and into the Big Dance. They play USC their first game at the end of the week. Love it, love it, love it! Glad you have a "cock in the fight" as well, Bardling. Gams...I won't hold it against you that roundball is not your thing if you won't hate on me for never remembering....Michigan or Michigan State? (Say it louder this time and it might stick)

Yeah, but if they win, they have to play Ohio State.

Xavier lost. But the game was a lot closer than I expected it to be.

Ooooo - saw the last few minutes of the Xavier/Ohio State game. Damn - looking like they'd pull it off. We were pulling for Xavier - not particularly cuz we are big fans, but because Ohio State...pfft and ick.
Big, big rivals - not basketball, (Michigan's team sucks and I don't pay much attention to basketball anyway), but football; the Buckeyes and Wolverines, (that'd be U of M, Q; not Michigan State) hate each other.
Katina - how're those Cats?

Sheesh it's water logged in here, I take it that everyones team lost? Sorry to hear that, know the feeling believe me. Oh and to answer your other question Gams, three weeks and counting. Naw it's less then two actually, season kicks off on Friday night, March 30, with the Cats opening game on Sunday, April 1. Go the mighty Cats.

I don't like Ohio State basketball because of their coach. Football, on the other hand, I support them 100% since Xavier doesn't have a team.

Final Four and Championship game this weekend in hoops. Let's see, we have Ohio State vrs Georgetown and UCLA will face Florida in a replay of last year's final. I'm kinda ambivalent at this piont. Hate UCLA. Ohio State has played with a LOT of heart during this tourney. G'town-no feelings one way or the other. And Florida. They have beat my boys senseless this year, but I'de like to see a repeat Champion and they have played large all year. And after all, they are a SEC team and that is my conference.... OK, Ohio State and Florida in the finals with the Gators taking home the trophy again. That's my call.
