Anyone familiar with this show starring Anne Heche, starts here Wednesday night and looks interesting from the promos, a bit similar to "Northern Exposure" apparently. A brief synopses below ..............
A relationship-advice guru (Heche), upon learning that her fiance is cheating on her, decides to stay in a small town in Alaska, the most recent stop on her book tour. It's in this remote town, where the ratio of men to women is ten to one, she realizes she can truly learn about the subject she thought she knew so well -- how to find, and keep, a good man.

I haven't seen the previews, Katman, but I haven't had much of an opportunity to watch tv lately--other than my Christmas movies (Christmas With the Kranks & NL Christmas Vacation) and CSI....oh, and People's Court, of course. LOL...a creature of habit, I am. Not sure I'm diggin those numbers.

It sounds interesting, actually. More so than most other shows. Except CSI, of course.
Haven't seen any preview though either.

Thanks guys, oh no hang on, forgot my new persona, should say what took ya both so long to reply, lift your game or there's trouble ahead. Figured that ten to one ratio wouldn't exactly take your fancy MG, now Gams on the other hand may be a whole different kettle of fish. It does look interesting Gams, I'll give it a perusal tonight and do an in depth report on it, well as in depth as one can get in two or three lines that is.

I found when it comes on here - Thursdays at 10. Cool - that's the only night I watch television anyway: Survivor, CSI, and now I'll have to check out Men In Trees, (suddenly I find myself singing, "It's raining men". Why? Argh!).
I asked Hubs if he's heard of it; he thinks the show's been around for quite a while. New, or not?

I've never heard of it. Same channel as CSI? I never know what's after CSI because I'm at work...or close to getting there. I thought you were going to sign in this morning long enough for a review, Katman?
I'll just have Mary leave the recorder on.
You don't watch CSI NY, Gams? It was a good one last night. Did you hear of Grissom leaving the show?

I thought you were going to sign in this morning long enough for a review, Katman? Yep, sorry about that champ, just me being tardy [ as usual ] To answer your question Gams, as far as I can make out it only started airing in September 06, and so far there's only been ten episodes, but hopefully [ fingers crossed ] it'll continue. Very good opening episode, with Anne Heche excellent in the lead role as the author who thinks she has her life firmly under control only to find out that's not quite the case. Great supporting cast of eclectic and interesting characters, the quite hunk who of course will become the love interest of our heroine, the wise bar tender at the local watering hole and his wife, the young disc jockey at the tiny local radio station, as well as a host of other assorted characters, including a rumbustious Raccoon who keeps terrorising the leading lady. Certainly has similarities to the excellent "Northern Exposure", with any luck it will enjoy as long a run as that show as it looks like a little gem among all the dross, humour that's just a little "off center" well written characters, and of course breathtaking scenery, two thumbs up, highly recommended. Let me know what you think if either of you happen to catch it.

Shoot, I missed it last night, Katina. But after your glowing review, (a good one that), I'll have to be sure and catch it soon. Next week, I'll have to miss too - I'll be driving to Mom's then. I hope I can remember what the heck Men in Trees even is by the time I get a chance to watch.
The reason I missed it was all CSI's fault. Pfft. A rerun, and I got busy doing other things instead of watching televison. No Q, I hadn't heard Grissom was leaving. Damn. I like the character.
I haven't watched any of the other CSI's - maybe caught just a few minutes of CSI NY the other night - there's that cute guy on there who used to be on the Young and the Restless many, many, many years back, yes? Can't remember the name, but never forget a body.
CSI Miami - bluck, bluck, bluck. The red haired actor makes me cringe, even from back to his NYPD Blues days. Big-headed attitude - eewwwww. Yuck.

Second episode last night and it's holding up the high standard set in the first, think we're on a winner here.
