watched SAHAHA today...Matthew McConaughey, penelope cruz, bill macy, steven zahn....wonderful adventure with a rockin soundtrack....i kept thinking, "what a great way to spend your life, chasing after buried artifacts & dodging bad guys"...mm & steve z are best friends from kindergarden on, & their chemistry together is great...
fav line:
SZ: "i'll find the bomb, you get the girl"
MM: *cheesy grin as he walks off* "okay!"

ok, bought this film a month ago at the discount grocery store for a $1....we finally watched it today.....
we both thought the performances from d'onofrio & garofalo were flawless & the movie--shot to resemble a documentary--was fact-based & accurate....good investment for a buck!

Have to keep an eye out for "Steal This Movie", sounds interesting.
Hellboy, ummm, fraid it didn't light my fire, apart fron Pearlman's nice underplaying of the title character as a sardonic, and pretty cool, dude, the film as a whole was strictly by the numbers I thought, and very repetitive, Hellboy meets monster, Hellboy fights monster, and not a lot more really.
Some of the more human elements were actually the best parts, the scene where Hellboy watches his "girlfriend" from the rooftop while talking to the little boy was quite well done, but overall I can't say I was all that impressed I'm afraid.

aw....it's ok, buddy.....sorry i got your hopes up....maybe it was more of a chick flic....mary & i both loved the humor....you're right about the plot, tho...pretty cut & dry. yep, i'de have to say it was the humor & pearlman's acting that got it done for us!

That's alright, I forgive ya [ this time ] Don't think it was a chick flic, heck I love a lot of "so called" chick flics anyway, just couldn't get into it, despite the humor and Pearlmans performance, which we seem to agree were the best elements of it, these just couldn't overcome the shortcomings I'm afraid, at least for me.

Oscar Winning Director Robert Wise Dies LOS ANGELES (AP) - Robert Wise, who won four Oscars as producer and director of the classic 1960s musicals "West Side Story" and "The Sound of Music," has died. He was 91. Wise died Wednesday of heart failure after falling ill and being rushed to the University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Center, family friend and longtime entertainment agent Lawrence Mirisch told The Associated Press.
Mirisch said Wise had appeared in good health when he celebrated his 91st birthday Saturday.
Wise was nominated for seven Oscars, including the four he won, during a career that spanned more than 50 years. The other nominations were for editing the 1941 Orson Welles classic "Citizen Kane," directing 1958's "I Want to Live!" and producing 1966's "The Sand Pebbles," which was nominated for best picture.
More recently, he served as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Directors Guild of America.
Wise directed 39 films in all, ranging from science fiction ("The Day the Earth Stood Still") to drama ("I Want to Live!") to war stories ("Run Silent Run Deep") to Westerns ("Tribute to a Bad Man").

Just checked it out MG, the reviewer sounded pretty impressed. It doesn't ring a bell with me, not to say I haven't seen it, but just don't recall, seen a lot of movies, and that ones pretty old.

I heard the guys at the office talking about Jodie Fosters new flick Flightplan. They loved it! I am a huge fan so maybe I can get a chance to go see it in the actual theater.
I also heard the new Reese Witherspoon movie is funny as well.
So many things to choose from

That would be the sublime Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis, nice seeing them work together. Have to think on the second part of your question, not really sure. What happens on Oct. 14th?
