"P.S, what did you think of it?"
You are joking, right? It's like one of my favortite B horror flics!
This is another one I can watch & rewatch...mainly because of one of my favorite actresses--Ms. Kathy Bates. It also has Rupert Everett....Unconditional Love, a strange but wonderful feel good movie.
Catch it if you can.

How many King Kong movies can they make? I would like to see "An American Haunting its"s based on a true story. " This isn't a pic from the movie. I just thought it was cool. Also I learned how to post pics and think it's sooo neat.

Okay, I'll definitely keep an eye open for it now after that recommendation, and for "Unconditional Love" as well, don't think I've seen that one. "How many King Kong movies can they make?" As lone as there's a buck to be made from them Freebird I'm sure they'll keep makin' them, we can probably expect the big hairy guy to swing back onto the screen at some time in the future.

I took my three best gurls on a date last night. It was a "blast", to say the least--well, other than the fact that I paid $3 for a bottle of water...pfft! We saw Mission Impossible III. I just have to say; that Tommy Cruise is definitely the man. I certianly am not a Cruise-swooner, but as Agent Ethan Hunt, he offers the total package. An equally impressive performance by a talented guy, Philip Seymour Hoffman, as the bad guy, is also given. I was disappointed at MI II--didn't think it held a candle to the first one--but this was a ride well worth the $50 price tag it costs for this family of four to go to the cinema on a Saturday night and enjoy a small soft drink & some popcorn--don't forget the $3 water. I just keep replaying in my mind that commercial about "the joy of Saturday night bonding with two teenage daughters as being priceless"--sheesh; no wonder families play bored games around the television. Anywho....see the movie. P.S. I didn't really think twice about the cost (other than the $3 water bottle). The family time with the gurls was truly priceless.

Right, that recommendation has kicked me over the edge, was 80% convinced on going, now I' m sure, probably next friday.
Couldn't agree more, No 1 was very good, No 2 was really on the nose, afraid John Woo just doesn't cut it as a director as far as I'm concerned.
Glad you all had a good time ..................... how much did you say you paid for that bottle of water again, think I missed it. ;D

There are certain movies that are shown over and over on t.v. and I like them. I usually catch a tidbit here or there but like them. One of them was on the other day. I have caught pieces of Enough starring J-Lo. I really like this flick. When she runs to the bus, with her child in her arms, to get away from her abusive pyschopathic hub, I yell "Run, J-Lo, Run!"

I have certain ones like that, too, Sof'....Jaws--all four, Independence Day, Fried Green Tomatoes, Sorority Boys, Halloween--the first one and H20 only, The Rose--one of my all-time, super-duper favs, A Star is Born (Streisand & Kristofferson version)...
Well, the list could just go on and on. I didn't even add any of the old movies. Of course, I have most of them on disc--but if one is on tv, I will leave it on that channel while I do something else along with it.
Off I go this afternoon for a matinee with the girls; Mary is working today. We are going to see Nacho Libre with Jack Black. I think he is one of the funniest and most talented actors around right now. The girls watch School of Rock about once a week, I think.

Howdy Ms Loren, nice to see another face in here, doesn't happen all that often.
"Nacho Libre" is that the one where he plays a bullfighter, saw it advertised the other day, looks like it should be quite good, hope the three of you have a good time.

How rude of moi not to also welcome you to this side of the pond, Sof'...what was I thinking!? Let me clear a spot for you here on the wrap-around-the-theatre sofa. Enough. I like that movie. I liked Jnefromtheblock before I found out she won't stop wearing all that fur....AACCCKKK! You know that's a real issue for me....(see the dancing parrot below). What's the last flic you saw at the cinema? Do you do horror flics? Do you still watch Xena? We want to know!

I don't do horror flicks. I am weenie. I like chick flicks. I don't like "dick flicks". I really like those foreign films a lot.
One film I would like to add to my collection is Bride and Prejudice. I loved the color and music in that one.
I don't get to see many films. I have two I would like to see out now. I am too tired to remember their names now.
Pretty Woman is another good one to see over and over. I loved The Rose but think I only saw it once. Fried Green Tomats is super. The book was good, too. Rare.
I like Black and white, too.
Thanks for the welcome. This is such a nice place to be.

I know it says favorite movies but I don't know where else to put this post. I rented a movie. This may go under movie news as I rarely do that. Anyway, I saw it and thought I should let you know that.
It was Woody Allen's Matchpoint. I know, I know, you all detest Woody....I won't take that joke any further. But, I have always liked his cinematography....those long play-like scenes on the street.
This movie took place in London. His films are not ones you could ever confidently guess the next lines of endings of. This was a disturbing ending one. Woody isn't afraid of being dark and horrible. The truth is often so painful. No happy ending.
I liked it. It was okay. I wish I could have seen it all with you, though. Yep.
I so wanted to go see Malone with this group....

I just watched An American Haunting finally the past weekend. It was a good, spooky movie. I wasn't crazy about how it all panned out.
Gams, didn't you watch this one right before Halloween? I remember you not saying too much. He was molesting the daughter, right? And if he was molesting her, why did the entity focus so many attacks on her rather than him? Maybe I should watch it again...altho it seems a bit long and drawn out in places...
Interested to hear both your takes...

We also watched Click with Adam Sandler. Now he is not my favorite actor and I actually slept through the first showing. Mary liked it so much she watched it again just so I would. It was worth it. Good flic, good message.
Nacho Libre was also on the marquee. I had seen it in the theater with the girls. I love Jack Black and this movie is good, clean family fun.

Did someone here [ or maybe it was over at Whoosh ] mention a film called "The Descent" just recently?
Anyway, saw it last Friday and it wasn't half bad, about a group of six women on a caving expedition who ............. well I won't give to much away, suffice to say that not all goes according to plan, first with the actual descent itself, which was pretty horrifyingly claustrophobic, but nothing compared to what transpires when they run into some rather unpleasant denizens of the deep.
An unknown cast but they were all good, lots of blood an guts, very good suspense, one I'd recommend for those who aren't to squeamish.

I think it was over at Whoosh. Phalon or Siren mentioned it? Or someone else. It _was_ a while ago.

Hello gang. I just got released and am back out in society. Ha ha. Just kidding.
Oh, I actually rented a couple of movies. This is an event. I think that makes about 5 so far this year.
I rented (let me get a breath for this title) Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her. It is a compilation of short stories that all blend in the end. Holly Hunter (luv her), Glenn Close (luv her) and a bunch of other famous actresses (luv them). I really liked this flick, nicely done.
I also tented...I think..it was called....A Lot Like Love. Nya.
