Oh man I thought I was close...but I did have another guess but was not sure about the non human attribute...so maybe I just can't remember...So I am sticking with my Eastwood theme and picking josey wales from The Outlaw Josey Wales... am I even in the ballpark? Not only in the ballpark GP, but in the VIP seats, for I am indeed The Outlaw Josey Wales, well done.

Was the non-human sidekick a dog? Yep, sure was, with a chewing tobacco stain on it's forehead. Do you want to kick off a new game MG, or wait and see if GP returns shortly, I'll leave it up to you.

Are you older than 50 or younger than 50?
Kevin Bacon (legend in his own mind, perhaps) (not fair, I love Mr. Bacon)

Is this cult following horror-related? Boris Korloff Yep, a horror film, not Boris. I first came to notice in a half hour tv western series, I was known as a bit of a rebel.

oh man.... Nick Adams. After you spoon-feed it to me....sheesh Errr, not quite sure how to tell you this MG, but I'm not Nick Adams, sorry. Was a "much" bigger star then him in films, with more then twenty starring roles over my twenty year career, which ended with my untimely death at the height of my stardom.

Ummm, more clues. Okay, starred in a "classic" western with a group of other well known actors, as well as a "classic" war film. Outside of films I had a passion for something that was the subject of one of my films, and which I also put to good use in a famous scene, one of the first of it's type, but which has become standard in many action films since.

Great clues, katman, I'm just drawing a blank.... Give me the names of one or two of the actors/actressess that you shared the screen with... Please?? Well you know I can't refuse you anything MG, so let's see. In the classic western I mentioned, I was part of a group with six others, hence the name of the film, one of them being Yul Brynner. In the war film I starred with James Garner and Richard Attenborough. Also starred alongside my real life wife in a film which was later remade starring another real life married couple. How's that, any help?
